Guildford is home of the University of Surrey. This historical and vibrant town in the county of Surrey has all the amenities of a city yet remains small enough to explore and enjoy easily. The University is set within a closed campus environment great for socialising. The countryside location is only 30 minutes from London by train.

Location
Time to central London: 45mins by public transport. Nearest town: Guildford. Transfer times: LHR - 30mins, LGW - 45mins. Travelcards: London Excursions Groups/individuals will be met at the airport by one of our Activity Leaders who will welcome you and escort you back to the campus
Facilities
Sports: Gym available on the University of Surrey Manor park campus located a 15 minute walk away. Pay and play facilities are available for non-members. The Main Hall is reserved for indoor sports and the playing field can be used for all recreational games. Social spaces: Large common areas in most accommodation containing TVs etc.
Accommodation
Single rooms in standard accommodation in the centre of campus with shared bathroom facilities. Bathroom to Bedroom ratio – 1:4. Accommodation is configured into flats/levels of between 10 and 14 rooms. Most accommodation blocks have a shared kitchen facility where students can relax in the evening.
Local Transport
Rail: There is a train from Guildford Railway Station to London Waterloo every 20 mins. The journey takes between 40mins and 1hr 10 mins. Bus: Buses from the train station operate a regular service to the campus. Services 17, 27 and 37 run approx. every 10 minutes. Reduced Sunday service.
Internet
Wi-Fi internet is available across campus including in halls of residences. Please refer to your Centre Manager for Wi-Fi access codes.
Academics
Average students per class: 16. English levels: Elementary - Proficiency (programme can be adjusted to lower English levels). Additional qualifications available: Trinity GESE exam and PCTO programme
Security
There is 24 hour security. No safes in the bedrooms. The Centre Manager has a safe in their office for Group Leaders to store money/passports securely. An access fob, a key and lanyard are supplied to students. A replacement key is £18 and a replacement fob is £10. A replacement lanyard is £ 2. Damage deposits of £20 or €30 will be collected.
Laundry
There is a laundry room located on site. Card system used. It is £2.70 for a wash and £1.20 for tumble dryers. Cards can be purchased from Loring Management Centre. All of the laundry facilities are self-service. Open: 7.00 - 23.00. Bed linen will be washed once a week by the University laundry.
Meal
Breakfast: 07:00 - 08:45. Toast, cereal, pastry, yogurt, fruit. Cooked breakfast once a week. Lunch: 12:30 - 13:45. Pasta, meat or vegetarian main course with potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert. Dinner: 18:00 - 20:00. Meat or vegetarian main course with potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert.
