Founded in 1891, Goldsmiths was founded in 1891 and now forms part of the University of London. It is located in New Cross, a part of London close to Greenwich and is well connected by public transport to the centre of the city. The campus is renowned as a centre of the art studies and has great facilities for students on learning experience in London.

Goldsmiths College International Summer school
Location
Time to central London:15mins. Nearest town: New Cross. Transfer times: 1hr 20 to LHR and LGW. Groups/individuals are met at the airport by an Activity Leader and escorted back to the campus. Travelcards: Weekly zones 1-2 travelcards are included. These allow unlimited travel on the transport network including bus, train, tube, DLR and tram.
Facilities
Sports: Tennis courts and a sports field on site. On site gym available for group leaders. (Enrol plus a small fee of £21). Social spaces: All flats have a shared kitchen/lounge. Discos, Karaoke and Talent Shows are held in the Great Hall. There is a cinema on the ground floor of the Richard Hoggart building.
Accommodation
Recently refurbished single rooms with a private bathroom, in flats of 6-8 rooms with a social space for students to relax in. The majority of the accommodation is located inside the campus with additional rooms available opposite the main site entrance. Spacious rooms with a desk and a chair. 24-hour security on campus to ensure the students’ welfare
Local Transport
Rail: A train from New Cross Gate to London Bridge is a 10min journey. Also available is the overground rail from New Cross Station. Bus: 177 to Greenwich, 172 to St Pauls, 171 to Holborn, 453 to Marylebone (via Oxford Circus), 343 or 21 to London Bridge.
Internet
Wi-Fi internet is available across campus including in halls of residences. Please refer to your Centre Manager for Wi-Fi access codes.
Academics
Average students per class: 16. English levels: Elementary - Proficiency (programme can be adjusted to lower English levels). Additional qualifications available: Trinity GESE exam and PCTO programme
Security
There is 24 hour security. No safes in the bedrooms. The Centre Manager has a safe in their office for Group Leaders to store money/passports securely. An access fob, a key and lanyard are supplied to students. A replacement key is £18 and a replacement fob is £10. A replacement lanyard is £ 2. Damage deposits of £20 or €30 will be collected.
Laundry
There is a laundry room located on site. Card system used. It is £2.70 for a wash and £1.20 for tumble dryers. Cards can be purchased from Loring Management Centre. All of the laundry facilities are self-service. Open: 7.00 - 23.00. Bed linen will be washed once a week by the University laundry.
Meal
Breakfast: 07:00 - 08:45. Toast, cereal, pastry, yogurt, fruit. Cooked breakfast once a week. Lunch: 12:30 - 13:45. Pasta, meat or vegetarian main course with potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert. Dinner: 18:00 - 20:00. Meat or vegetarian main course with potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert.
