High School Experience
High School Programmes:
Full High School Experience: the foreign students benefit from the rare opportunity of joining British students onto regular school classes for a minimum of 2 weeks up to one full year, this is mainly opened for individuals or small groups. – Buddy Programme: similar to the Full High School Experience but it is opened to school groups mainly for one week up to three/four weeks. – Partial Integration: English tuition and foreign students join British students in some of their lessons. – Mini Integration: one or two days within a British School for school groups.
During the “Integration Programme” the foreign students benefit from the rare opportunity of joining British students during their lessons followed by living with a trusted, local host family. This is done deliberately to enhance the productivity of this programme as students are compelled to not just learn but speak English as well. This technique helps in building and developing the knowledge and skills received during the classes. The subjects that students study together include Languages, Art, Literature,Cooking, Sports Science and etc.
In this type of course, a number of schools show willingness on accepting some students and integrate them in their full boarding life including classes and activities. Student participating in this program work alongside the full-time or regular students, wear school uniform, adapt to the rules and regulations as well as the schedules of the school. In short, they are expected to participate fully and actively in all aspects of school life. Thus, students become full boarders and are allocated a place in any of the school’s boarding houses. They also enjoy similar opportunities as other full boarders during evening and weekend activities. These activities include excursions, sports and/or socialising events.
The Full Programme involves classes, sports and other curricular as well as extra-curricular activities. From the past seven years, UKEDA has maintained close collaboration with a number of high-profile and trusted academic institutions offering integration programs. This is why parents and students blindly trust on UKEDA in terms of availing high-standard care, quality tuition and a well-rehearsed programme, which reflects the ethos of boarding schools in the UK. The demand of such courses has rapidly increased in the past few years. It is therefore, recommended that interested candidates apply as early as possible to secure their desired place. After the completion of registration and payment process, the school will issue Visa Support letter for students who have applied from outside Europe. Parents will be required to fill-out several forms from the school so that the school acquires all the necessary information required for the welfare and safety of the students. Parents will be properly guided and assisted by the UKEDA throughout the procedure and will coordinate with the schools throughout the application, preparation and academic process.
UKEDA also allocates students in schools that offer up to 40 seats for foreign students so that they attend an exclusively designed course, which combines intensive English tuition and integration onto regular school classes, events and activities. All the efforts of the school are channelled towards offering students a multi-cultural environment but due to the European school year timing, Russians are often in majority. This issue is dealt by placing students in distinct boarding houses or classes. They wear similar uniforms like other students at the school and follow the school schedules. Additionally, the respective school arranges excursions on weekends to intensify the cultural understanding of the newly enrolled students.
This is an immersion course, which promises an innovative and successful method of English language learning. Moreover, it offers an exceptional experience to students as they are able to become part of a lively, informative and vibrant British High School life along with a chance of learning about British culture and education.
