The Royal Holloway campus is located only 40 km from central London. It was founded in 1879 initially as a women-only college and it is well-known for the Founder’s Building opened by Queen Victoria in 1886 and is home to Picture Gallery and a chapel. Students get to experience great facilities at this campus with close proximity of London with all its attractions.

Royal Holloway - International Summer school
Location
Time to central London: 40 mins by public transport. Nearest town: Egham. Transfer times: LHR-20mins, LGW - 45 mins. Groups/individuals are met at the airport by an Activity Leader who will escort you back to the campus. Travelcards: Included on London excursions by train.
Facilities
Sports: Sports include badminton, basketball and table tennis. The sports hall is used as part of the activity programme and must be supervised by an Activity Leader. Fully equipped gym for Groups Leaders for a small fee. Social spaces: The main lecture theatre in Founders Building and spaces within the Students Union such as Tommy’s Bar.
Accommodation
Modern single en-suite rooms. Kitchens/social spaces in every block, furnished to a high standard. Wi-Fi Internet access in all rooms. The accommodation blocks are located very conveniently for access to the canteen. Accommodation is typically configured in flats of six to eight bedrooms sharing a kitchen space.
Local Transport
Rail: Egham Station (20 mins walk) -Direct to Waterloo (40 mins) -Direct to Richmond (20 mins). Bus: Bus stop opposite entrance - Bus 71 direct to Windsor - Bus 441 direct to Staines. Taxi: Please see the Centre Manager for taxi contact numbers.
Internet
Wi-Fi internet is available across campus including in halls of residences. Please refer to your Centre Manager for Wi-Fi access codes.
Academics
Average students per class: 16. English levels: Elementary - Proficiency (programme can be adjusted to lower English levels). Additional qualifications available: Trinity GESE exam and PCTO programme
Security
There is 24 hour security. No safes in the bedrooms. The Centre Manager has a safe in their office for Group Leaders to store money/passports securely. An access fob, a key and lanyard are supplied to students. A replacement key is £18 and a replacement fob is £10. A replacement lanyard is £ 2. Damage deposits of £20 or €30 will be collected.
Laundry
There is a laundry room located on site. Card system used. It is £2.70 for a wash and £1.20 for tumble dryers. Cards can be purchased from Loring Management Centre. All of the laundry facilities are self-service. Open: 7.00 - 23.00. Bed linen will be washed once a week by the University laundry.
Meal
Breakfast: 07:00 - 08:45. Toast, cereal, pastry, yogurt, fruit. Cooked breakfast once a week. Lunch: 12:30 - 13:45. Pasta, meat or vegetarian main course with potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert. Dinner: 18:00 - 20:00. Meat or vegetarian main course with potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert.
